When you’re selling a home – whether with flat fee MLS or by some other method – you need to be sure that prospective buyers are able to learn as much as they need to about the property.
Having your home listed in the multiple listing service is the key to getting your home noticed by as many people as possible and flat fee MLS makes that affordable. When your home is in that database, buyers and their agents will be aware that it’s for sale.
Not only that, but when you’re listed in the MLS, your home will have its own online presence: the listing will appear on Realtor.com and on its own site where you can include important details, multiple photos and even a virtual tour or podcast that will let prospective buyers get a feel for the place even before they see inside.
But just because you’re covering those bases doesn’t mean that you can neglect those buyers who are in your community. Marketing flyers posted at the grocery store, laundromats and coffeehouses are still important for getting your home noticed. Having those flyers available at your open house as well as in an info tube so that prospective buyers can grab one as they drive by is also important.
You may give away more flyers than you anticipate. You may not receive offers from everyone who picks up a flyer. Still, it’s important to make them available: it’s essential that prospective buyers are able to learn as much as possible about your property.
By giving them the details (and using flat fee MLS to get as much exposure for the property as possible), you’ll be able to draw more attention to your home and, as you would expect, more attention leads to more interest.
